Environment Policy Committee

Environmental concerns remain high on the business agenda. Ibec positions on environmental issues are developed through our Environment Policy Committee (EPC). The Committee is comprised of representatives from all sectors of Ibec membership and includes both the users and providers of environmental infrastructure and services. It meets quarterly and is chaired by John Ahern, Indaver Ireland.

The aim of the committee is to ensure the achievement of environmental objectives in an efficient and cost-effective manner which supports the competitiveness of Irish business. The committee:

is active on issues such as waste, water, pollution prevention and control and sustainable development.

tracks environmental policy, legislative and regulatory developments at national, European and international level that impact on business.

acts as a platform through which member companies engage with key decision-makers and bodies such as the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government, the Environmental Protection Agency and local authorities.

is a forum through which member companies share good practice related to environmental protection.
