Business Sentiment - February 2011

The Ibec business sentiment series has been conducted quarterly since February 2009. Over 400 responses are analysed in each quarterly survey, and the data collected provides valuable insight into Ibec member sentiment both on individual businesses and on the economy generally. The results for February 2011 are contained in this section.

04/05/2011 - Ibec members are now much more positive about both their current business conditions and the outlook for their businesses over the coming three months.

04/05/2011 - Almost half of all companies surveyed expect no change to their pay bill in 2011, with nearly seven out of ten freezing basic wage rates. The average expected change to basic pay rates in 2011 is near flat at 0.4%.
